A high level of consistency throughout the season paid dividends for the Red Lion A cueists who captured the Cardigan & District Pool League title for the first time with a 6-4 away win over Clwb Rygbi on the final night of the campaign.

The Red hotshots, who were successful in 16 of their 18 outings, and are pictured celebrating after clinching the title are as follows: Dominic Williams (capt); Gary Lawrence; Pryd Allen; Darren Howells; Dyf Allen; Rob Furney; Gareth Price; Gwyn Evans.

Runners-up were Rugby Club (formerly Teifi Boating Club) who claimed that spot for the first time and also achieved 16 wins as they ended with a 7-3 away triumph over Wine Bar B.

Double champions Lamb A finished third after an emphatic 9-1 win over visitors and second from bottom Wine Bar A.

The first winners in season 1986-87 were Grosvenor who successfully defended the title on two occasions.
