THE bowls season in Ceredigion swings into action next week with the Carruthers Shield taking centre stage during the first three weeks and the league programme starting at the end of the month.
Reigning champions Cardigan are again led by Paul Monders and the champs are in Section 10 of the Carruthers along with New Quay, Aberystwyth and Llandysul while champions two seasons ago Lampeter compete in Section 9 with Queen's Road, Aberaeron and Tregaron.
The Carruthers starts on Wednesday, May 10 with the following fixtures: New Quay v Cardigan; Aberystwyth v Llandysul.
The Cardis open the defence of their title on May 31 with a visit to Aberaeron while Lampeter are also away against last season's Division Two kingpins Queen's Road.
