DURING more than a quarter of a century playing pool Gareth Francis has always had an inkling to achieve an eight-ball clearance in a competitive game but the feat has always eluded him – until last week that is.
Although a shared winner of the Cardigan & District Pool League player-of-the-year competition in 2013, the eight-baller has never materialised despite the 47-year-old clearing up numerous times in practice.
Gareth finally came good playing for Lamb B in a 7-3 win over Wine Bar A when he was heartily congratulated by players on both sides.
