Local derby clash in cup

RUNAWAY Costcutter League Division One leaders Llandysul who were J Emrys Morgan Cup finalists last season have been handed an opportunity to reach the last eight after the draw for the fourth round threw up a local derby tie between Pencader of Division Two and the first division high-flyers.

The Swallows will undoubtedly be hot favourites to go through against their Division Two neighbours at Pencader Park, but Llandysul manager Chris 'Coco' Davies is far too long in the tooth to underestimate the Reds who have been firing in the competition.

In round two the Carmarthenshire villagers travelled to Powys where they overcame Builth Wells Reserves of the Mid Wales League South 5-0 and in round three won 6-2 away against Llanon of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League.

As beaten finalists Llandysul were exempt until round three when the Swallows sprang a 2-0 win over visitors Llanymynech of the JT Hughes

Montgomeryshire Amateur League.

Winners two seasons ago, Cardigan Town have been drawn away against Berriew Reserves of the JT Hughes Division One while Crannog will host Shropshire village side Newcastle at the Urdd Centre in Llangrannog.
