WITH their rivals for the Costcutter League Division One title in cup action Llandysul took advantage with a competent performance in springing a 4-0 win at Felinfach.

In completing their eighth win on the bounce the Swallows drew six points clear at the top and on current form it is difficult to envisage the

high-flyers slipping up.

Although the scoreline does not suggest a completely dominant performance by the pacesetters it was exactly that as the Milkmen were run

ragged and visiting goalkeeper John Durbridge was a virtual spectator throughout.

The visitors had three efforts cleared off the goal-line and also hit the woodwork twice before taking the lead through Dean Jones who slotted

home a penalty after he had been brought down.

Skipper Lewis Jones doubled the advantage just before half time and in the second half midfielder Adrian Hazzelby set up Scott Thomas to volley goal number three and Hazzelby wound up the scoring by crashing home a fourth goal.

Crannog chalked up a fifth win from nine starts when going nap against Aberaeron Reserves at the Urdd Centre. Dylan Davies and Mike Glover bagged a brace of goals apiece and George Colven was also on target.

Dewi Stars heaped more misery on relegation-haunted Bargod Rangers with a 5-1 win at Llanddewi Brefi where William Williams netted twice and the other goals came via Ifan Thomas, Deian Williams and Gethin Williams.

In a Central Wales Cup round one tie Cilgerran Rovers of division one gave it their best shot at their Parc y Dre stamping ground but

went down to a 2-0 defeat against Spar Mid Wales League Division Two side Newbridge On Wye.

When visiting skipper Aeron Powell was brought down inside the penalty area during the opening quarter the skipper promptly got to his feet and dispatched the spot kick and the same player doubled the advantage just before the interval.

The Coraclemen fought tenaciously throughout and during one raid during the second period they had an effort rebound from the woodwork.

Due to unavailability of players and injuries Lampeter Town failed to raise a team for the trek into Powys to take on Spar Mid Wales Leaguers

Kerry in round one of the Central Wales Cup.

Also in round two New Quay were no match for Waterloo Rovers of the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire Amateur League as the visitors romped it 8-1 at Parc Arthur.

Newcastle Emlyn turned on the style in an 8-1 away win over Borth United Reserves of the Cambrian Tyres League Division One and reached the second round of Cwpan Coffa Dai Dynamo Davies.

Peter Almond, Daniel Davies, Dion Davies and Huw Jones were on target for the Reds.

There was no joy for reigning champions Cardigan Town, the understrength Magpies crashing out after a 5-1 away defeat at the hands of

Dolgellau Reserves of the Cambrian Tyres Division Two.

Heads were turned at watering holes when the score filtered through from St Dogmaels where Saints of Division One swamped Division Two bottom of the pile St David's University College Lampeter 25-0 in round two of the Easter Monday League Cup.

As the north Pembrokeshire villagers re-wrote the club record books there were 14 first half strikes with the homesters finding the net 11

times after the break, and had it not been for a host of missed chances the margin of victory would have been even greater.
