WITH one game remaining Llechryd are on the verge of promotion in the Pembrokeshire Cricket League Division Three while Crymych are relegated.

But it was the Preselimen who impressed at the weekend as they overturned a defeat at the hands of their neighbours earlier in the season and sprang a 38-run win at Castle Malgwyn.

The Teifisiders go into this Saturday's final game at Pembroke Dock with a healthy 20-point lead over third in the table Neyland 2nds, but the way in which they have been performing of late does not instil confidence that promotion is a certainty.

Having first use of a lively wicket, Crymych posted 189-4 in their allotted overs with Ioan Davies leading the way as he scored 54 which included seven boundaries while there were valuable contributions from Osian Wyn who was unbeaten on 25, Harry Jones (24) and Andrew Thomas (20).

In the Llechryd reply Dewi Davies was top scorer with 37 but his team-mates struggled against medium-pacer Osian Wyn who snapped four wickets for eight runs and the homesters were dismissed for 121.
