HAVING missed on promotion in Division Three of the Pembrokeshire Cricket League by a whisker last season Llechryd are preparing for another bold bid and a call to arms has been issued by club stalwart Laurence Harris.

As well as the first eleven enjoying a successful campaign the 2nd Xl also did the club proud with a top three finish in the third division.

A debit side a big blow is the loss of last season’s inspirational all-rounder and skipper Rich Connolly who is spending a year in Australia.

Indoor net sessions for the seniors start at Cardigan Leisure Centre tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm followed by a session on Monday April 11 and April 18.

The club junior section is thriving following a drive last year to encourage local schools to take part.

The juniors under qualified coaches start training at the Castell Malgwyn ground at 6pm on Tuesday, May 3 and every Tuesday thereafter.

Enthusing over the challenge ahead former club skipper Laurence Harris said “Our aim is to improve on last season and re-establish Llechryd as one of the foremost clubs in Pembrokeshire.

“We welcome old and new players, especially those who have just moved to the rea to become members of one of the most picturesque and popular cricket clubs in the Pembrokeshire League,” he said.
