Rali Mike Darowen

The first round of the Welsh road rally championship took place in Machynlleth on January 30. Members from Teifi Valley Motor Club attended the Mike Darowen Rally that was run by Dovey Valley Motor Club.

It was a difficult start to the Welsh Championship for navigator Dafydd-Sion Lloyd, who would like to continue from his good season in 2015. Unfortunately they didn't make the start of the rally due to car troubles.

Carwyn James, who was attempting his first rally in the driver seat, was not able to finish due to coming off the road. The crew of James Evans and Ffion Davies retired due to a broken drive shaft. There was also a non-finish for Steven John, Gordon Meakins and Lyndon Jones.

Best placed member of the evening was Dilwyn John, who finished 9th overall and 8th in class.

Rali Cwm Gwendraeth

A cold and wet Pembrey circuit awaited many members from TVMC for the Rali Cwm Gwendraeth on February 7, run by the Gwendraeth Valley Motor Club. From the 55 starters of the event, 22 retired, Wyn Owens and Jenny Evans were unfortunately one of these crews.

The father-son crew of Hefin and Rheinallt George finished 24th overall and 5th in their class. Wyn Lewis and Dan Irving finished 22nd overall and 4th in class.

Adrian Evans and Mark Lewis were 9th overall and 2nd in their class. Tom Barber and Jamie Barber were 8th overall, and won their class in a BMW Compact. Christopher Stanfield and Jordan Wilkinson were 5th overall, but won their class with a clear margin.

The best place crew from TVMC were Peter James navigating for Neil Williams. They won their class clearly by nearly two minutes, and finished a fantastic 3rd overall.
