FORMER Cardigan captain and joint coaching supremo Colin Davies who has been out of the game was the star of the show as the Cardis notched a 26-12 win over visitors St Clears and kept alive their hopes of lifting the League 3 West A title.
The victory also avenged a 22-20 defeat at the hands of their rivals in Carmarthenshire earlier in the season.
No. 8 Davies stormed over for two tries during the opening 40 minutes and winger Rhydian Jenkins also crossed with Iestyn Crompton landing two conversions as the home side led 19-0 at the break.
The Saints got on the scoresheet with a penalty try awarded for a scrummaging offence and centre James Davies added the extras.
Centre Aaron Tomlinson wove his way through the defence for a fourth home try and Crompton again converted.
Visiting No. 8 Daf Walters went in for a try in the final quarter but it was a case of too little and too late as the Cardis banked five valuable points.
