POPPIT Sands Surf lifesaving club scooped a number of medals at the Welsh Surf Lifesaving competition his year which was held in Porthcawl for the first time.
Medallists were Dafydd Nicholls with a gold in the 16 and under Surf competition, Matti Collins gold in the 19 and under 1km run, Menna Phillips and Lowri Davies Silver in Double ski, Dafydd Nicholls and Matti Collins silver in Flags, Menna silver in Ocean Woman and Lowri and Morgan Davies silver in Ski.
Hannah Pusey and Matti Collins won bronze in Sprints, Bethan Phillips bronze in Ocean Woman, Swim and Board. Hannah Pusey and Menna Phillips bronze in Tube Rescue and Morgan Davies and Alfie Bodenham bronze in Double Ski.
The team also had a number of fourth and fifth places in relay events.
