Local girl Tanisha Thomas has become the first ever Welsh girl to win the Scott National Motocross Championship event held at Pontrilas.

Tanisha has been working hard to reach her goals this year in motocross and she has been seen performing consistently for the past two years.

“I went out there to do what I love doing and achieved my goal. I’m very proud to be the only Welsh girl who won the Ladies Motocross National Championship in Britain," she said.

“I would like to go further and do some world events. I would like to thank my sponsors, OSC Performance and 3A's Caravans who have been a tremendous help. Also a big thanks to the kindness and support from the people in Motocross. Come on 2016, “ she added.

The last two rounds in the championship were the hardest according to Tanisha due to a back injury.

She hopes to work hard through the winter on her back injury and come back stronger to keep the title.
