Several members of Cardigan Sea Angling club can be seen enjoying a boat fishing trip aboard the Seren y Mor from Swansea recently and caught several species between them which included Tope, Ray, Dogfish, Gurnard and Mackerel.

The club members met again over the last weekend in a 'roving' competition and landed another decent haul between them. Species caught this time from the rocks around our beautiful coastline were Rockling, Pollock, Tom Pot Blenny, Smelt Gurnard, Whiting, Wrasse and Pouting. Mackerel are very few and far between this year so far from the shore, although there have been reports of success a few miles out to sea from the boats.

A few of the club members will be travelling down to Chessil Beach for a few days soon, to fish their annual pilgrimage to Weymouth and Dorset, hoping to land some unusual species which often make an appearance at this time of year. They will be targeting the visiting Trigger fish and other tropical species who will hopefully make an appearance.

The next club match on home ground, will be on Saturday 12th September, fishing from 2 - 7pm on Llanrhystud beach.
