LAST season’s Costcutter League Division One runners-up Newcastle Emlyn stole a march on their rivals before the start of the new season by coming out on top in the annual Jimmy James Memorial 7-a-side Tournament at St Dogmaels.
Quality football, excitement galore, large crowds and the weather set fine were the ingredients for a highly successful event at School Field.
In defeating Cardigan-based Maesglas in the final Emlyn lifted the coveted trophy for the first time - previous winners are Aberporth, Cardigan Town, Goodwick United, St Dogmaels and St Dogmaels Reserves.
