LLECHRYD lost ground in the Pembrokeshire League Division Three promotion race when going down to a 121-run defeat at Herbrandston who avenged a nine-wicket defeat at Castell Malgwyn in May.

Batting first on a flat strip Herb opener Ryan Davies went after the visiting attack from the word go as he scored heavily all round the wicket in compiling a brilliant undefeated 120 which included16 boundaries.

Graham Keen had figures of 4-28 but as the homesters reached 195-7 the remainder of the Llechryd bowlers were taken to task.

The Teifisiders were never up with the run rate and lost wickets at regular intervals as Robert Hood snapped three wickets and there were two apiece for Harry Nicholas and Paul Nicholas and Llechryd were dismissed for 74.

In the same division mid table Crymych lost by six wickets against visitors and leaders Carew 2nds who extended their lead to 37 points over Llechryd.

Despite a stubborn innings of 49 by Richard Thorne the Preselimen were all out for 75 as Rob Scourfield took three wickets for two runs and Yori Hicks returned figures of 2-7.

As Carew reached the target for the loss of four wickets Jacob Knox contributed 23 and Harry Dunn made 21.
