The Ystwyth Rally, run by Aberystwyth Motor club on the famous Sweet Lamb complex near Llangurug, proved to be a very challenging event for the members of Teifi Valley Motor Club.

The changing conditions during the day meant that grip was low on some sections of the course and the route therefore was rough for the cars.

Many retirements occurred during the event for TVMC members including Emyr Davies and Barry Davies with an electrical problem in their Ford Escort, broken driveshaft for David Morgan and Wil Horton in their Rover 216, also Dafydd-Sion Lloyd who was navigating in car 37 suffered due to the challenging condition of the course with a broken ball joint.

Also car 75, David Rowclliffe and Daniel Phillips failed to finish.

Mark Jukes and Mark Lloyd did complete the day in their Toyota Corolla, as did Hugo Carey and Bronwen Carey in their Ford Escort. But both crews picked up fails and as a result finished 39th and 41st overall respectfully.

Seamus Goddard and David Marchant completed the day without a fail and finished 6th in the novice class and 29thoverall in a BMW Compact. Experienced navigator, Dilwyn John, who navigated for Michael Jones of Lampeter Motor Club finished 24rth overall and 12th in the expert class.
