A record number of guests, friends and rugby supporter’s packed into the Marquee at Crymych Rugby Club.
A total of 450 guests turned out to celebrate the Testimonial Dinner as part of John Davies’s Testimonial Celebrations.
After playing just over 600 matches of first class rugby for Neath RFC, Richmond RFC and Llanelli/Scarlets RFC as well as five seasons for Crymych RFC and 34 international caps an overdue Testimonial was held to celebrate the career of John Davies from Boncath.
As well as the large turnout for the dinner, a fashion show held the previous night attracts 250 guests.
With the rugby match on the following Saturday attracting a further 250 people to the pre match hospitality with an additional 300 watching the match.
The match featured Crymych RFC playing against a John Davies Invitation XV.
John stressed that all of the profit raised would be donated to four nominated charities; the Royal agricultural Benevolent Institution, The John Hartson Testicular Cancer Charity, Crymych First Responder and Wales Arthritis Care.
