STILL licking their wounds after a mauling in round one of the Carruthers Cup against Bedwas and Trethomas in South Wales there was a return to form for Cardigan who claimed a 27-shot win over Aberystwyth in the Ceredigion League on the Gwbert Road green.

Highlight of the 96-69 win occurred on the 10th end when the Cardigan rink of Emyr Davies, Howard Devonald, Marc James and Paul Monders scored a maximum eight shots against their opponents Ieuan Rees, John C Price, Adam Jenkins and Ian Pugh.

In completing a win hat-trick with a 14-shot win over visitors Tregaron champions Lampeter gave a clear indication that they have their sights set on retaining the title.
