Ceredigion’s own newly-formed youth rugby team have just received their new full playing kits thanks to sponsors, Coleg Ceredigion and Brownhill Caravan Park.

Up until now, players who wished to follow a recognised player pathway, from Under 14’s through to Senior Rugby, have had to travel to Parc y Scarlets or Pembrokeshire to do so.

With the newly established youth team, Ceredigion players will now be able to play and compete against rival teams from Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire West and Carmarthenshire East. The new Ceredigion District youth team hopes to attract the best players from across the county to compete against other districts.

Rhys Huws, Marketing and Publicity Officer at Coleg Ceredigion said : “We’re very proud to support this new team for the Ceredigion area. We know from our own experience the distances our students have had to travel to play at this level. We’re delighted therefore that we can help to establish a team in Ceredigion so that youngsters can represent their own county and compete against other regions. We are also very proud to have no less than five Coleg Ceredigion players in this new team and we wish them every success.”

Huw Davies, Brownhill Holiday Park, said: “It’s always a pleasure to support youngsters in our community through sponsorship. Hopefully, their new kit will inspire them in their matches”.

Justin Lloyd, Welsh Rugby Union Player Development Officer, said: “We are extremely grateful to the sponsors for their generosity and I believe that the new kit will provide the young players with renewed confidence and a sense of unity”.
