It was plain sailing for Crymych Youth as the Preseli youngsters emerged 31-0 winners over their Cardigan counterparts in a Pembrokeshire League game at King George V Playing Field, a victory that followed on the heels of their 10-3 Welsh Cup success at Tonmawr.

After three victories in the Welsh competition the north Pembrokeshire villagers are through to the last eight where they face holders Penallta who knocked them out at the semi-final stage last term. The game at Parc Lloyd Thomas is on Saturday, February 14 and expected to draw a sizeable crowd.

In a game played in difficult underfoot conditions with the pitch cutting up badly long before the final whistle, the visitors were superior to Cardigan but full credit to the homesters who never gave up and defended heroically.

For Crymych the try scorers were centre Harry Vaughan, starting his first full game for the team who bagged a brace, No. 8 and skipper Guto Davies, right-winger Carwyn Vaughan and lock Steffan Howells. Outside half Llyr Edwards landed two conversions and his replacement Jake Jenkins was successful with one.
