This Sunday is an important one for the two teenage Williams brothers of Cenarth as they contest in the penultimate round of the Junior Formula 1000 Rally Championship in Anglesey (for drivers between 14 and 17 years old). Held at Trac Môn, 16 year old James and Harry 14, are excelling in their spheres, and a win at the weekend, could mean a 2014 championship title.

James is currently leading the championship with co-driver Gareth Short of the Rhondda, having competed in eight rallies since the beginning of the season in March at the Roskirk Stages in Wigan. To date this year, he has won the Soloway Coast Rally in Scotland, the Woodbridge Stages in Ipswich and the Patriot Stages in Caerwent. He has also been selected as one of the top five up and coming young rally drivers in the Young Rally Driver Competition to be presented to the winner in the World Motorsport Expo in Germany mid November, and his success at Anglesey, hinges on it.

Harry in his first season has also had several podium results and is looking forward to a strong challenge for the championship next year with Dilwyn John of Beulah in the navigator’s seat ....

' It is a hard graft, and I've been involved in motorsport for years,' said their father Mark.

' For James to win the Championship and be awarded the World Motorsport Expo title would be the icing on the cake with over 1000 guests present at the high profile gala dinner. We will just have to wait and see what happens this weekend as competitors travel from all over the UK and Ireland to compete.'
