The new season in the Cardigan & District Darts League got off to a flying start with the annual 6-a-side tournament at the rugby clubhouse producing keen and exciting competition auguring well for the league campaign which starts tomorrow.
Reigning league champions Tafarn Yr Oen lived up to favouritism by lifting the Division One title with a 2-1 win over Rugby Club.
The eventual winners were led by Steve Jerry Williams and also comprised Craig Williams, Daniel Noble, Joe Rees, Arran Morris and Robert ‘Tonka’ Rees, the latter and former Pembrokeshire county star finishing on double eight in the final. The champs defeated Castle 2-0 at the semi-final stage.
Recently resurrected after an absence of many years Black Lion made an early impact when dominating the Division Two competition and emerging 2-0 winners over Wine Bar in the final.
The league newcomers who defeated Grosvenor 2-0 at the penultimate stage were represented by Johnny Williams, Carl Ginge, Dominic Williams, Mathew Southern, Pryd Allen and Dyf Allen.
