The most prestigious event on the KUGB (Karate Union of Great Britain) Wales Shotokan karate calendar was recently held in Rhydycar, Merthyr Tydfil. The Welsh Championships 2014 saw students from all over Wales compete for their club and individual titles. Tekki RS was out in force and was well represented from students from all six clubs, Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul, Cardiff and Cwmbran. The standard was exceptionally high throughout the tournament from the new kyu grades, of which many had never competed before, to the regular dan grades and Tekki RS achieved many medals in various categories.
