Cardigan Sea Angling club members met in the Grosvenor hotel recently for their annual dinner and trophy presentation evening. The trophies were presented by the chairman, Alex Harrison and secretary Derek Jones.

The Junior league were well presented and the on going battle between brothers Lee and Damien Routen saw a divide this year with both siblings scooping most of the awards between them. They reeled in the 'Junior Most Species' equally and shared the trophy, but Lee managed to pick up the 'Annual Species' award for an unusual catch of a 'Rock Cook'. Damien then pipped Lee to the post by catching the 'Longest Bag' leaving his brother in 'Runner Up' position.

Young Katy Rees was not going to be left out by the boys and was rewarded with 'Most Improved' angler and the 'Runner Up' position of 'Junior Champion'. Her brother Kier won the 'Bass' trophy

The eventual winner of the prestigious award, the 'CSAC Junior Club Champion' went to a very proud Damien Routen

In the senior league, another pair of brothers, Robert and Haydyn Butt, competed for the majority of the club trophies. They tied equally for the 'Most Attendance' and 'Most Species' awards. However, Bob took the lead by landing further awards for 'Biggest Mackerel', 'Longest Bag' and 'Runner Up- Club Champion'. Haydyn however attained the highest award , the shield which has been presented annually since 1980 to the best angler of the season, the 'CSAC Senior Club Champion'.

Other members receiving trophies for their efforts went to Norman Brewer- 'Pollock' and 'Whiting' , Alex Harrison - 'Rockling' , Dave Stephens - 'Flounder' , Kevin Copeland - 'Wrasse' and 'Best Newcomer' , Paul Cutler - 'Dogfish' , 'Runner Up Longest Bag', 'Best Fish' and 'Best Boat Caught Fish' .
