Sports clubs and organisations have just a month to get their hands on the latest round of cash to get more people in Ceredigion active.
With more than £43,873 of Lottery funding already awarded to help local sport this year, it is now the final chance to get applications in for this financial year.
The Community Chest grant offers clubs up to £1,500 of National Lottery funding every financial year. It is designed to encourage more people to be more active and is run locally in partnership between Ceredigion Actif and Sport Wales.
The final round of Community Chest awards are set to be made on Wednesday 5th February, with the closing date to get applications submitted on Thursday 19th January.
Recently, funding of £1,500 was approved for Cardigan Bay Watersports to help them qualify local people to be coaches.
There was £1,241 for the Aberystwyth Uni Fencers to train First Aiders & Referees along with much needed equipment.
Tiny Tots Football Clubs in Tregaron & Lampeter were awarded £1,750 between them to set up footballing coaching sessions for 3-6 year olds.
£565 was approved for Aber Kayakers to run White Water safety & rescue courses for children.
Clwb Pel Droed Crannog secured a £500 contribution towards changing old, unsafe goal posts on the pitch.
Steve Jones, Active Communities Manager for Ceredigion Actif, commented:
"Many clubs don't realise that they can apply for community chest money every financial year. It's a great scheme to help clubs grow and encourage more to participate. Two of our priorities are physical activities for Women & Girls and Inclusive sporting opportunities for disabled people.’’
"This is the final chance for this year so clubs need to act now and contact us so they don't miss out.
"We know that it can make a real difference at grassroots level and be a boost to our local sports clubs."
