Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club have recently opened entries for their series of events in 2014.

A total of four events are being organised, over a variety of distances and formats, from triathlon to duathlon and running. Two of the events are open to relay teams of two or three, so there is every opportunity for everyone to get involved.

First up is the Pembrokeshire Duathlon in Neyland on Sunday March 16, which consists of a 5k run, 20k bike and a 2.5k run. Both runs are flat, with the bike incorporating a couple of steady climbs but also plenty of fast flat sections. The event has a limit of just 120 and usually sells out completely, well ahead of the closing date of March 8.

On May 4 the club holds its own super-sprint triathlon in Haverfordwest, consisting of a 400m swim, 15.8k bike and a 3.1k run. It is an ideal race for complete novices, and a good lead in to Pembrokeshire Leisure’s Go Tri series which gets going on May 25 in Fishguard.

Saturday June 28 sees the iconic TriExercise Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon return once again to Broad Haven, over distances of a 1500m swim, 43k bike and 10.6k run. It will be the 10th time that the race has been held there and 20 years since the very first triathlon in Pembrokeshire there in 1994. Demand for the 300 places will be very high, once again all places are expected to fill well before the June 21 deadline.

Finally the Pembrokeshire Half Marathon and 10k events will be held in Dale on September 28, the Half Marathon being held there for the 15th consecutive year. Always a popular event, with both courses taking in superb coastal views as they reach St. Ann’s Head.

Full details of all four events can be found on at www.pembstri.org.uk/events.htm, or e-mail events@pembrokeshire-tri.org.uk or telephone 07975 925365. The club also has Facebook pages for general club news and for the TriExercise Pembrokeshire Coast Triathlon.
