ERADICATING unforced errors Newcastle Emlyn of Division Two West produced their best performance of the campaign in winning 28-12 against third in the table Amman United at Ddol Wyber.
A third win of the season for the promoted Red and Whites was the result of a fine all-round team performance with some clinical finishing.
As the Emlyn pack fired on all cylinders hooker Bedwyr Davies, locks Gethin Greaves and Arwel Davies and all-action No. 8 Alex Williams stood out.
Although the platform for victory was laid up front it was behind the scrum that the Teifisiders came up trumps with man-of-the-match Rhydian Harries at outside half kicking superbly and inevitably taking the right option.
Emlyn led 21-0 after the opening 40 minutes, their points coming from tries by fly-half Harries, fullback Sean Leonard and centre Alun Howells with Harries landing all three conversions.
The homesters went off the boil after the break as United right winger Dean Williams – brother of Welsh legend Shane -, lock Mathew Rigely went in for tries and centre Adrian Thomas converted one of the scores.
Regaining their composure and the ascendancy Emlyn crossed for a fourth try and a bonus point when Alex Williams drove over from a driving lineout and Harries added the extras.
