Dowling goes bowling in all-Penrhiwllan Final

ELEVEN under-18 players took part in the singles competition held in Rhydlewis’s hall on Saturday. Split into two groups after some really good playing, two players from Penrhiwllan took to the mat for a Final game.
It has to be said that the standard of some of the play was outstanding – knowing how many adult players dread playing at Rhydlewis at the best of times. What is also staggering, is that several players had only been playing for less than a month! Credit also must be shown to Emily Storer of Aberporth who nearly caused an upset in her game against eventual finalist, Owain.
So it was that Joseph Dowling played his team-mate Owain James. As so often is the case, the final was not as good a game as some of the earlier ones and Owain succumbed to an early lead set up by the more experienced Joseph.
