A plethora of Pembrokeshire talent took to the stage at the Torch Theatre for six sell-out performances of the musical, Sister Act.

The action-packed show was one of local theatre company, Artistic Licence’s, biggest productions to date, featuring stunning sets, dramatic costumes and plenty of high energy musical numbers.

Mention must be made of Torch Theatre education officer, Chloe Wheeler, who lit up the stage as Deloris Van Cartier, giving it her all in a series of big sings.

“For me, the whole experience has just been so enjoyable and unforgettable,” said Chloe. “I feel so lucky to have taken on my dream role and perform for a week of sold out audiences. The whole company is amazing and it’s been a huge team effort.”

Deloris’ soulful sisters in the convent were equally impressive, staying in character throughout all their numbers and bringing an infectious energy onto the stage as well as some superb singing voices.

Add to the mix boo-inspiring baddie Geraint Sayers as Curtis and his bunch of bungling sidekicks, Will Oliver as good cop Sweaty Eddie and Brian Harries as Monsignor O’Hara and you could definitely say the brothers were equally well represented in terms of talent.

Artistic licence director, Carol Mackintosh, was delighted with the community’s response to the show.

“The audience response to Sister Act has been absolutely amazing,” she said. “Everyone involved- on stage, back stage and in the orchestra pit- has given 100% commitment in making the show such a success.

“Sarah Benbow has worked musical magic by helping the cast hit the high notes and we have also been incredibly lucky to have the support and professionalism of the technical team at the Torch Theatre.

“Artistic Licence theatre company is always keen to take on a challenge -from Sondheim to Shakespeare -which showcases talented local performers . We’re now planning our next production, Noel Coward’s Private Lives which will be at the Torch and at Picton Castle in July.”

Musical director, Sarah Benbow added: "I can only say how proud I am of this fantastic group of actors. The amount of hard work and dedication they gave to the production was incredible, and they were well rewarded with a sell-out week.

“Also, having such an amazing band, meant that the performances were indeed very special. A huge thanks to the company for asking me to be involved. I have had a blast "
