A Pembroke man spat in a police officer’s car and stated he hoped his wife was cheating on him, a court has heard.
Gwyn Davies, of The Green, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, September 19.
Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, told the court that Davies, 37, became abusive while a police officer issued a fixed penalty notice for a defective tyre at Jogram Avenue, Pembroke, on September 3.
He said: “The defendant, while initially cooperative, started to become very abusive, using foul and abusive language towards the officer.
“He was making stupid comments that he hoped someone else was having sex with the officer’s wife while he was at work.”
Davies then spat through the open window of the police car onto the seat.
The bench heard that he had paid the penalty notice for the tyre.
Jonathan Webb, defending, said: “It was stupid, angry behaviour for which the defendant apologises. He lost his temper. He should not have said what he did, or done what he did.”
Magistrates fined him £140 and ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £30 surcharge.
