CAREW Castle is bracing itself for an invasion by canine companions in the lead up to its Doggy Day Out tomorrow, August 19, which will see pooches and their proud owners take over the dog-friendly site.

There will be a fun dog show for furry friends of all sizes to enter as well as a dog agility course and stalls with treats for pets and owners to get their paws on. There will be canine-themed events for kids, a doggy treasure hunt and the Big Dog Walk at 3pm.

Carew Castle Manager Daisy Hughes said: “This day promises to be a delight for dog-lovers and their four-legged friends with activities and events for them all to enjoy.

“Carew Castle is dog friendly all year round; having been named Best Dog Friendly Day Out/Attraction at the inaugural Pembrokeshire Dog Friendly Tourism Awards last year, but this is unique opportunity to bring your furry friends along to celebrate man’s (and woman’s) best friend.”

The event runs from 10am-4pm.

Normal castle admission fees apply plus there is a small charge for some activities.
