HEALTH and safety concerns at Tenby's historic Five Arches have been raised for the second time in less than three years.

Yesterday (Wednesday), Pembrokeshire County Council announced that scaffolding has been erected on one of the arches.

The scaffolding will remain in place while the authority undertakes further investigations.

A cuncil spokesman said: "The concerns centre on the quality of some of the stonework, especially in the dry weather conditions."

The same arch was cordoned off in September 2015 after an incident when a piece of stone became dislodged and fell onto the footway.

It was subsequently re-opened after an inspection by the county council's structural engineer.
