A HISTORIC Grade II-listed Haverfordwest chapel is up for sale for under £100,000.

Popular Move estate agents are advertising the former Wesleyan chapel, the earliest part of which was built in the 1770s.

The property has planning permission for conversion into seven one and two-bedroom flats and maisonettes.

Situated near the bottom of Barn Street, it is close to the town centre, two supermarkets and local schools, the site is billed as an ideal opportunity for a developer.

The former chapel was a regular place of preaching for John Wesley - who was honoured in 1956 with a bronze plaque athe old Grammar School, which was later moved to the town library on Dew Street.

The chapel was completed in 1818 but many alterations and additions were made over the following 150 years.

Once a grand and imposing building, the chapel has been empty for several years.
