The jury deciding whether a former mayor of Pembroke carried out a string of sex attacks on young girls - including an alleged rape - has been sent home for the weekend.

Former Pembroke mayor Dai Boswell, 57, of Bush Street Pembroke Dock,  has denied seven counts of indecent assault and one charge of rape.

Boswell is now a Pembrokeshire County Councillor.

The alleged incidents date back several decades.

The jury was sent out to consider its verdict yesterday (Thursday) and has continued to deliberate throughout today.

At 4.30pm the jury was sent home and the court will reconvene on Monday morning.
