MEMBERS of Fishguard and District Round Table excelled themselves at the national Round Table and Ladies Circle conference in Chester earlier this month.

The conference is an opportunity for members to meet and socialise with other members from all over the world it is also an opportunity to vote for the members of the national board for 2018/19.

The group was delighted to see Michael Annis from Fishguard & District Round Table elected as chair of regional representatives.

Michael, who already represents the Round Tables of South Wales, will now lead the council of 20 regions from across Britain and Ireland.

"It is a great honour to lead a great team of enthusiastic tablers who work hard to help the organisation grow and support the work done in the communities around the UK," he said.

There was another honour for Fishguard Round Table with Peter Harding being awarded the Marchesi Coin in recognition of his services to Round Table.

Gwil Evans who accepted the award on Peter's behalf said:

"Peter Harding is an important member of Fishguard Round Table and the community of Fishguard.

"He is a rock to us all and he and his family do so much for the community of Fishguard, it was a massive honour for me to accept this award on his behalf".

Fishguard Round Table chairman Oliver Pearson added:

"The weekend was a great success and it was good to meet members of Round Table and Ladies Circle to share ideas and swap success stories.

"It was also great to hear how highly Fishguard Round Table is regarded in the greater Round Table community".
