Colliding with a parked car during a midnight drive while more than double the limit has cost a Pembroke woman her licence.
Isobelle Phillips, of The Parade, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat Ibiza while over the legal alcohol limit when she appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, May 15.
Sian Vaughan, prosecuting, told the court that a resident of Belle View Terrace, Pembroke Dock, heard a loud bang just after midnight on April 30.
She looked out of her window to see a car parked at a strange angle with Phillips crying and hysterical nearby.
Police could smell alcohol when they approached Phillips, and she was found to have 82mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, the legal limit is 35mg.
Mike Kelleher, defending, said Phillips, who had no previous convictions, was extremely remorseful and had cooperated fully with police on the night in question.
“She realises she should not have been driving, she took the terrible decision that night.
“She has no idea why she was driving, she had consumed alcohol and had not eaten that day.”
Phillips was fined £120 and ordered her to pay £115 in costs and a surcharge.
She was banned from driving for 18 months.
