PUPILS at a Haverfordwest School were lucky enough to meet some police dogs following an interview with an officer his canine colleague who are trying to make big changes to the law.

Last week, pupils at Redhill Preparatory School interviewed PC Dave Wardell and Police Dog Finn, who survived stab wounds after chasing a criminal through the streets of Stevenage in 2016.

This week, children from Redhill Preparatory School had the opportunity to meet police dogs from Dyfed-Powys Police.

PC Cowper showed how the dogs could track items and catch a criminal.

He demonstrated how valuable these animals are to the police and the incredible job they do.

The children are exploring a proposed Bill entitled “Finns Law” which is currently being debated in Parliament following injuries inflicted on police dog Finn while on duty.

They intend to write to the Justice Minister to put forward their opinions on the matter.

Redhill Preparatory School would like to thank PC Cowper and Dyfed-Powys Police for their experience.
