A GROUP of Fishguard and Goodwick fundraisers have scaled new height to raise £1,794 for the Lota Project.

Four children and nine adults abseiled down the 27 metre high keep of Pembroke Castle last Saturday, September 23. The youngest abseiler was seven-year-old Tala Stark from Fishguard, she was joined by Sean and Ben Dunning and nine: year-old Jess Johnson.

"They were absolutely amazing, so brave and raised a massive amount of money," said the Lota Project's Dani O'Connor. "They are real heroes of the community."

The Lota Project is currently raising funds to replace the tired and broken play equipment in Lota Park. Two new pieces of equipment were added to the park this spring and have been well-received by local youngsters.

The next Lota Project fundraiser is a meal and raffle at Jeera Indian restaurant in Fishguard on Monday, October at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 each. Any donations of raffle prizes it will be gratefully received.

On October 14, the Lota Project will run a fundraising spinathon at Fishguard Leisure Centre from 9am. Spinners will cycle 290 miles, the equivalent distance from Fishguard to our twin town of Loctudi. Slots can be booked via the leisure centre or the Lota Project Facebook page.
