The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park will be packed with adventures in the great outdoors and opportunities to unearth myths and legends this summer.

The National Park Authority’s family-friendly attractions all have exciting activities in store, while there are also a whole host of events out and about in the Pembrokeshire Coast scenery.

Authority chairman Gwyneth Hayward said: “As 2017 is the Year of Legends in Wales, there’s no better time to discover more about the National Park’s rich history and heritage.

“Our programme of activities and events includes something for everyone, from exciting encounters with wildlife to quests of cultural discovery, which we hope will also inspire you to learn more about this legendary landscape.”

Carew Castle and Tidal Mill will be awash with medieval merriment, with a range of Robin Hood themed-fun from July 24 to 28, with events including a Treasure Trail and Have-a-go Archery.

Open air theatre returns in earnest with performances of Nest on July 30, A Midsummer Night’s Dream on August 6, and David Walliams’ Billionaire Boy on August 20.

Castell Henllys Iron Age Village will celebrate Lughnasadh - the beginning of the harvest season on August 1, with a Living with the Landscape event with demonstrations throughout the day and the burning of the wicker man at the end of the day.

The fort will also be subject to a Roman invasion with themed events throughout the holiday and special Roman Days on August 19 and 20 will see Legio VIII Augusta MGV Roman Living History Society take over the site and providing demonstrations of cooking, crafts and military might on both days.

Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in St Davids will be hosting storyteller Milly Jackdaw who will be telling Tales of the Mabinogion on July 29 as well as August 5 and 19, taking inspiration from the sculpture of the Twrch Trwyth statue on site.

The legendary theme will continue with King Arthur’s Adventure art workshops onJuly 25 and August 1, 8, 22 and 29.

Guided walks will include routes in the Preseli Hills on August 7, 14 and 22, as well as Leisurely Lighthouse Tours at Strumble Head on July 28 and August18.
