The new road between Theatr Mwldan and Gwbert Road (B4548) is going to have a wildflower makeover, this afternoon (Saturday, March 25) and community development group 4CG are asking for your help.

Ceredigion Council is supplying 1475 wild flower seedlings, these include cowslip, foxglove, ox eye daisy, ramsons, forget me nots, yellow flag iris, meadow sweet, hemp agrimony, ragged robin, marsh marigold and the common knapweed.

The seedlings need to be planted on the roundabouts and at various points along Maes Y Dderwen.

The plan is that, year on year, they gain strength and multiply and this area will become a wildlife haven and a riot of colours throughout the year.

Ceredigion Council will be preparing the planting sites to give the best possible chance for survival and planting is between 10.30 am and 3 pm.

There will be free parking in the BathHouse car park above the fire station, near Maes Mwldan. A footpath leads from there to the planting sites so bring suitable footwear.

Equipment will be supplied and there will be someone to welcome and instruct on where to plant.

“Drop in when you can,” said 4CG volunteer Gwenda Mark. “Together we'll create a wildlife haven."
