Chamber to do survey

2:09pm Tuesday 8th April 2008

Further to Llwyd Edwards letter (Tivy-Side, April 1) regarding the closure of so many shops in Cardigan.

May I suggest that the Chamber of Trade carry out a survey of the shopkeepers who have closed to find out the cause for these closures. The supermarkets that have sprung up in the area cannot be fully to blame, so the answer(s) must be elsewhere.

The answers should be found if a survey is carried out by the local Chamber of Trade. If this trend continues then Cardigan will become no more than a ghost town, let this not happen. Encourage new businesses that appeal to the residents of Cardigan, and that will encourage visitors from outside Cardigan.
