Dear Editor

After the amazing response to the Cardigan Flood Appeal I felt I have to thank the community for their overwhelming support. As usual the people and businesses of Cardigan and surrounding area have rallied round and pulled together as one. I can say that I am very proud to be a ‘Cardi’.

Firstly as a resident of St Mary Street I would like to thank the Fire Brigade and the Council workers for their efforts during the flood. They did an amazing job in very trying conditions. I also wish to thank each and every person who has come forward with donations, offers of practical help, and advice. Local businesses, big and small, ignored tough economic times to support us and charities went out of their way to help.

My thanks go to : Tesco, Co-op, Aldi, Premier, King Furnishings, LD Furniture, O&M Dry Cleaners, Llinos Hairdressers, Tivyside, Jeremy Thomas Builder, Nicks Mega Mix, The Original Factory Shop, The Works, SAC Models, SR Electrical, Noble Services, Cardigan and Teifi Valley Ladies Circle, Dyfed Fitness, Cardigan Food Bank, The Projects, West Wales Dog Rescue, Mr and Mrs Slack.

Advice and support gratefully received from Mark Williams MP, Cllr. Mark Cole, Cllr Catrin Miles, Wynford Jones, Town Clerk and CAVO.

Many thanks to all, but a few special mentions for the people who made this all possible : To Caz Howe for setting up the Facebook Page, Jackie Biggs for her help in admin and co-ordination, Elvin Evans and Lee Noble for taking on board much of the deliveries and finally to Charlotte Penny for her outstanding work co-ordinating the furniture donations, collections and delivery. Without her solid and ongoing support the campaign could not have been such a success. Diolch yn fawr i bawb.
