Dear Editor,

I am becoming concerned with the inactivity of progress of the Strand area.

It is a total eyesore and a serious detriment to the town and its trade. With all the splendid work having been carried out on the castle, the Strand is a focal point to the whole project and its need to be renovated has become paramount.

We all know from recent history that there was funding made available to the Strand's renovation through the Big Art project and although there were those who opposed the Big Art, had it been allowed to be put into place, whatever the consensus, it would have brought in trade and prosperity to the town and consequently the Strand area would have been developed at no cost to the tax payer.

Now thanks to the short sightedness of certain factions whose members had so much time on their hands to put the spoke in the works - whereas most reasonable-minded people who saw the benefits the town would reap from the Big Art needed that precious time to earn a living - we are now faced with the cost (which will be considerable) of the much needed renocation.

I am writing this letter to inform your readers that I, on behalf of our members, am offering whatever help the Chamber can give those who have taken on the daunting task to get the renovation scheme underway.
