Dear Editor,

I was disappointed and concerned to read a letter published online in theTivyside Advertiser (10th October) from D Allen and his/her reference to Tai Ceredigion staff not responding to telephone enquiries or requests to attend meetings.

The letter stated that no one from Tai Ceredigion attended a meeting held on Wednesday 9th of October at Maesglas, Cardigan. I would like to put on record that Tai Ceredigion was not aware of the meeting and had not been informed that it was taking place.

I can confirm that we did receive a telephone call from a member of the North Cardigan Action Group on Tuesday 8th October to request a meeting and this will be held at our offices later this month.

I am not clear what the purpose of the meeting at Maesglas was and so am unable to comment further other than to state that we have resubmitted a planning application for much needed affordable homes on the Maesglas estate in Cardigan.

We have considered the views of local residents and have substantially reduced the number of homes so that we can provide an ample play area for residents alongside new affordable homes for local people. The scheme comprises of one wheelchair bungalow, six flats and two family houses.

STEVE JONES

Chief Executive of Tai Ceredigion
