A 73 year old man from Chellaston, Derbyshire, staying locally, was walking on the coast path between Newport and Dinas when he fell and injured his ankle yesterday afternoon.
The Fishguard Coastguard Rescue Team was called and despite the thick sea fog managed to locate the casualty and treat his injuries.
The man was stretchered by the coastguard team from the scene for about 1/4mile to the land ambulance waiting at on the nearest road at Ty Cannol Farm. The injured man was then taken to Withybush Hospital
