A self-employed labourer and scrap merchant who usually used cocaine in private in his own home had a small amount of the drug in his possession when police executed a search warrant at a friend’s home, a court was told.
At Ceredigion Magistrates Court 36-year-old Gary David Venton, Bryn Y Wawr, Pentregarth, New Quay, pleaded guilty to possessing 0.22 grammes of the Class A drug on December 22 last year.
Venton, who had previous convictions for similar offences, was given a Community Order for 12 months and ordered to carry out 40 hours unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a destruction order was issued for the seized cocaine.
