Stowaways on Cardigan coach

There was drama on a coach returning to Cardigan from a shopping trip in Belgium when two stowaways were discovered hidden underneath the vehicle.

The incident happened on Thursday as the Richards Bros coach returned from a Christmas Market trip to Ostend and Brussels.

The 52-seater coach driven by Sonny Johal came through the Euro tunnel and it is believed two men stowed away in a compartment near the rear axle where the engine is also located.

After passengers informed Mr. Johal of banging coming from beneath the coach the driver telephoned the coach depot in Cardigan and police were informed.

The bus stopped at Bracknell railway station in Berkshire where police with a dog searched the vehicle and arrested the two stowaways.

Marteinne Richards of the coach company said it was the first time this had occurred on one of their coaches
