After a four and a half year fight against a proposal to route part of the Ceredigion coastal path through his Gwbert farm park Lyn Jenkins has lost in the Court of Appeal.
The judges voted 2-1 against the appeal in respect of parking on the road leading to the farm park.
The owner of Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park said the legal action has cost him in excess of £120,000 and he is now considering his next move.
But the tourist operator, who claims the path would make his business unviable because visitors could enter the farm park free of charge, has vowed to continue fighting Ceredigion County Council.
“It will be chaos here and I will claim compensation from the county council every day,” he said.
Mr. Jenkins had taken issue with safety aspects of the proposed route but it has already been established that safety is the responsibility of the county council.
Disappointed over the verdict Mr. Jenkins said: “I am considering what to do. I have not yet decided whether to take my grievance to the House of Lords.”

And I can't help but wonder how much better the farm park and the derelict buildings on it would look now had the £120,000 been spent there instead of in the courts.
It would appear, though, that this is far from the end of this unedifying saga, and that m'learned friends will continue to chuckle all the way to the bank.
What an extraordinary waste.
