Ceredigion's Welsh Liberal Democrat MP Mark Williams has praised the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) for their support to local farmers in the midst of the economic downturn.

The RABI have recently had stalls at both the Cardigan and Llanilar Shows and they were also hosted the Cardigan Coffee Morning in the Guildhall last Saturday.

Local MP Mark Williams, who met with members of the RABI at both the Cardigan and Llanilar Shows and also attended their Cardigan Coffee Morning commented: "I've been delighted to meet with members of the RABI on a number of occasions in recent weeks and am very pleased to see that they are active throughout our community, seeking to raise money to help working farmers through what is a very testing time for us all.

"They will be celebrating their 150th anniversary next year and the need for their support is as much in evidence now as it was back in 1860. They're continuing to seek out new initiatives to support working farmers - something which is very important for us here in rural mid-Wales.

"I look forward to working with them further in the future and to seeing them playing a continued prominent role in local rural life".
