Tim Davies who has a Londis store in Felinfach has won an award for ‘best forecourt store’ in a national competition to find the ‘Londis store of the year 2009’.

Tim and his team received their award at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Londis annual conference and gala dinner in Birmingham on 11 March.

Some 2,000 shops across Great Britain were entered into the competition.

Tim and his team have undergone a rigorous judging process, including mystery shopper visits, strict quality assurance checks and visits from a team of judges.

Judges said: "This is truly the business that Tim built. Not just the retail business but the building it resides in. Not many people will take the gamble to knock down and rebuild their store, but Tim and his partner did. In fact they literally built the new store behind the old one, and then knocked the old one down to deliver a fantastic state of the art Londis store that serves the needs of seven local villages. Built to last, Tim has nearly 3,000 sq ft of selling space and is constantly improving the offer to meet customer needs."
