A Cardigan couple have offered to donate six acres of land for the town's new £9m hospital.
Sian and Richard Williams, of Ael y Bryn, are happy to hand over the land next to their house at the top of Cardigan bypass - as long as a roundabout is built for access.
"If the Bath-house plans goes ahead it will sacrifice the town and local small businesses," said Mrs Williams.
"If the hospital is built on the site we are offering along with a roundabout it will benefit the infrastructure of Cardigan for the next 100 years."
Local AM Elin Jones has been made aware of the offer and has written to Hywel Dda NHS Trust boss Martin Turner to draw his attention to possible alternative sites.
"With the continued uncertainty with regards to the Bath-house development it's essential that the Trust now starts to urgently consider other possible sites for the new hospital," she said.
The £50m Bath-house development - which includes a supermarket and social housing as well as the new hospital - has been mired in controversy and is due to go before county planners at the end of this month.
Local county councillor John Adams-Lewis, who has been an outspoken critic of Bath-house, said: "What I would like to stress is that there are other sites and it is sheer madness to say there aren't any other sites available in Cardigan."
A public meeting, hosted by the town's Chamber of Commerce, is being held tomorrow night.
"Discussions on alternative sites must run in parallel with Bath-house," said Elin Jones.
"Cardigan cannot put all its eggs in one basket."
